General Questions

How do I get to the greenhouse?

You use your preferred maps service to get you to 2328 Sloans Mill Road, Hamptonville, NC 27020, and then spot our large white sign with our name on it!

In your last mile, keep a lookout. We have a large white sign installed near the entrance of the greenhouse. There is a gravel entrance that leads to our parking lot where we request that you and your guests park parallel to the road (passenger door toward the road and driver door to the greenhouse) to allow the maximum number of cars in the parking lot.

Do you have power/outlets?

Yes, we have power outlets inside and outside of the building, allowing you to expand beyond the structure itself.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, furry family members are welcome too! We just ask that you have them on a leash, clean up any messes they make, and keep them off of the furniture to prevent damage.

Pets in laps are fine, just not directly on the furniture.

Is the greenhouse wheelchair accessible?

Yep! We have made efforts to have our space available to everyone. We do use gravel leading up to the front door, inside the greenhouse, and as the “ramp” to get onto our deck, so it does have a small lip that will be there.

For those needing a shorter distance to travel on foot, please let us know and we can give directions on how to drive down closer to the building.

Can I bring food and drinks?

We are perfectly happy to allow food and drinks in and around the greenhouse as long as you clean up after yourself.

Smash cakes, champagne sprays, and the like are fun but please keep them outside of the main building unless you have explicit permission from us. We are trying our best to keep unwanted bugs and animals out of the building along with keeping the space clean for the next person to rent the space.

I’d hate to fight for a toddler’s attention during a family photo session when there is cake all over the floor from the previous photographer. That would spread bad vibes faster than disturbing a bee hive.

Is there a bathroom available?

We have an ADA (handicapped) porta-potty at the edge of the parking lot as you walk down the path to the greenhouse.

Is there somewhere to get ready?

No, we do not have anywhere to get ready. We do have a handicapped porta-potty available though, and it is large enough to change outfits in if needed.

Can I get into the greenhouse before my time starts?

No, you cannot access the grounds (outside of the parking area) before your appointment time, and it is a hard stop at the end. If you arrive early or stay past your appointment time (even by 5 minutes) in or around the greenhouse, you will be charged for an additional half hour. All setup, photographing/event celebrating, breakdown, and clean-up must happen during the time you are booking. Please book your time accordingly.

Can I book an hour and use it for an event?

No. Hourly studio rentals are reserved for only photo sessions.

We are looking into holding events and allowing private events to be held, so do feel free to reach out to us and we can chat about what you have in mind!

Can I hang, attach, or nail any decorations to the building?

No, we are not allowing any outside parties to alter the building in any way.

We do find that suction cups and command strip hooks work really well (all that glass comes in handy!), and the curtain rope can be used to hang/drape things from.

Can I bring sparklers and/or fireworks?

No. Due to the increased fire hazard and risk of injury, we do not allow fireworks of any kind.

Can I bring confetti poppers?

No. We understand how exciting they are and that there are biodegradable options BUT how we work is rentals by the hour. Because there may be another person with time booked right after your explosive session, it could interfere with their experience.

Cleaning up is an option, but because you have to be fully cleaned up by the end of your rental session, I would hate that you spend half the time cleaning.

Is smoking allowed on the property?

Only in the parking lot, and we ask that trash be taken with you and not left behind.

We want our space to be ready and available to be used at any time. Smoking creates lingering smells and too much can create stains and we don’t want to have that.

I broke something, what do I do?

Tell us right away by calling or texting us at 980-819-1117! There are no hard feelings, we know we all are prone to accidents. If you don’t tell us, we won’t know to fix it.

If there are serious damages, you will be financially responsible, but we will work with you to figure out how we can right the wrongs.

If we find that something is damaged, broken, or stolen after your visit and you didn’t tell us about it, you will have to pay for the damages and you will no longer be welcome to our property.

Oops, I made a mess! Should I clean it up?

Yes, please. Just like when you are hiking, we would love you to leave our property looking the same or better than you found it.

If we have to come in be behind you and clean up or reset the room, you will be charged a minimum cleaning fee of $50 (based on how long it takes us to clean it) that must be paid before you can rent our property again.

Something is very wrong and I need to contact you!

If it’s an emergency, call 911, you can talk to us after everyone is safe.

If it’s not an emergency but you still need us in a hurry, you can call or text us at 980-819-1117 for more immediate responses.

What do I do if there is bad weather?

In the case of inclement weather (snow, ice, or severe storms), you may reschedule with no fees. We won’t make you pay for God not providing picturesque weather. Please use the reschedule button in the confirmation email about your rental to find a new time that works for you and we will cross our fingers with you that the weather will play nice then.

How do I reschedule my rental?

Please use the reschedule button in the confirmation email about your rental to find a new time that works for you.

How do I cancel my rental?

We hate that you are no longer coming. Please use the cancel button in the confirmation email about your rental to cancel your rental. You will get a full refund unless you cancel within 48 hours of your rental day.

If you cancel between 24 and 48 hours before your rental, we will hold 50% of your rental as a fee for canceling late and return the remaining 50%.

If you cancel within 24 hours of your rental, we will hold 100% of your payment.

Photo Rental Questions

What comes with the studio? Can I bring my own props?

We are creating pre-made sets throughout the year that hang around for a few of months at a time. You can see dates, mood boards, and anything else about our sets here.

As we create sets, those items will become available as items you can add to your sessions.

And for your props, you are always welcome to bring anything you want!

Can I rent the space and hire a photographer to photograph me?

Yes, we are open to anyone to rent, even if you yourself are not going to be the photographer.

We do hold special photo events in partnership with other vendors (such as animals or vehicles), and those events are only for photographers to book.

Can I move the decorations around?

Yes and No. We aim to create sets that are perfect for you to arrive, add your clients, and then get to work. You can move small items/props as some are intended to enhance the scene by making your clients part of the set instead of “inside of a backdrop”.  We do ask that if any items are moved, please return them to their original places before your session is over.

TIP: take a photo of the space before you start so you know where to move things back if they do end up getting moved.

Can I bring food and drinks?

We are perfectly happy to allow food and drinks in and around the greenhouse as props as long as you clean up after yourself.

Can I do a cake smash/milk bath/champaign spray session?

Yes and no. Please use caution with doing this type of photo session or anything like it to keep the building and the deck clean to keep bugs and animals away along with keeping the space ready and usable for the next person to rent.

Because we do not have running water or plumbing, we advise against doing any sessions with large amounts of liquids that you are not able to take home with you.

Can I take boudoir photos in your greenhouse studio?

Absolutely. We are happy for you to host boudoir sessions but do require that all sessions stay indoors. We do have neighbors and little kids.

If I rent the space and hire a photographer, do I need to notify you if my photographer changes?

Nope! All we really want to know is the head count that will be on the premises. But, we do ask for you to share who your photographer is so that we can keep an eye out for any of their great work on social media.

I am scheduled for a tour. Can I bring a model to photograph while I visit?

No. A tour is intended for us to meet and walk you through the ins and outs of our property. If you want to grab some shots of our grounds and greenhouse while you’re here, you are more than welcome to do so.

We will also work to create a package of promo photos that can be used by anyone to promote sales of your sessions. These can be provided upon request or by looking on our social media channels.

If you still want to take your own photos with a model, you can schedule a 15 minute session with us directly once you have booked time on the property.
