Because larkspur only blooms for a short window each year, these sessions are limited — making them a favorite for photographers looking to offer something unique to their clients.
About the Larkspur Field
The larkspur field typically blooms throughout May, depending on weather conditions. During this time, the field fills with tall stems of soft blue and purple flowers that sway gently in the breeze, creating a natural, airy backdrop for portraits.
Unlike many flower fields that feel tightly packed or difficult to work in, the layout of the larkspur at Firefly Haven allows photographers to move easily through the space and photograph from multiple angles.
This makes it easy to capture:

When does the larkspur field bloom?
Because the bloom window is short, weekend availability tends to fill quickly once the field opens.
Will other photographers be there during my session?
We do not book overlapping sessions in the same field, so you won’t need to work around other photographers or clients during your rental.
Can I bring props or styling items for my session?
We simply ask that props do not damage the flowers and that all setup and cleanup happen within your reserved booking window, since additional time before or after the session cannot be guaranteed.
Can I host mini sessions in the larkspur field?
When you reserve the field, the time block is exclusively yours, which means you’re free to photograph as many clients as you’d like during your scheduled window. Many photographers use their booking to run mini sessions or photograph multiple families back-to-back.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If you choose to cancel instead of rescheduling, refunds follow our cancellation policy:
- More than 48 hours before your rental: full refund
- 24–48 hours before your rental: 50% refund
- Less than 24 hours before your rental: non-refundable
Are clients allowed to walk into the flowers?
Each booking also includes the opportunity for clients to pick a small handful of stems to create a bouquet, which often makes for beautiful, natural photos.
We do ask that guests stay within the designated session areas. Our personal playground is not part of the rental space and is not available for photography.
